Today Governor Schwarzenegger announced the conditional designation of 23 enterprise zones throughout California, continuing his successful efforts to increase jobs, reduce poverty and build longterm economic stability. The Governor’s economic policies have helped add more than 650,000 new jobs in California.

California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) Director Lynn L. Jacobs announced the award of $48.1 million in Proposition 46 funds. Legislators and Senior Administration officials gathered at Redbarn Pet Products in Long Beach to highlight the economic benefits of the State’s Enterprise Zone Program and commemorate the Governor’s signature of AB 1550, which strengthens the Program’s effectiveness. Since taking office Governor Schwarzenegger implemented legislation to designate three new zones and enhance the State’s capacity for job creation. - Proposition 46 Update: Californians’ Support Helps Create 100,000 Homes Or Emergency Shelter Units — (Adobe PDF)
Proposition 46 was approved by voters three and a half years ago to help address California’s housing needs. Since then, money from the Proposition has helped create or preserve 100,000 housing units and emergency shelter beds, state housing agencies reported today.

This EIR evaluates HCD’s proposed changes to the California Plumbing Code as they relate to chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) plumbing materials.
