Award Package Announced for CDBG Planning and Technical Assistance Allocation

Award announcements have been made by the State Community and Economic Development Section for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Planning and Technical Assistance (PTA) allocation. This year $3,088,562 has been awarded to eligible applicants. Economic Development PTA funds have been exhausted for the current year.

Planning and Technical Assistance grants are available to provide funding in the form of grants to small cities and rural counties for planning and feasibility studies related to CDBG eligible activities including: housing, public works, community facilities and economic development. The ultimate beneficiaries are low-income households within the funded communities. The P/TA component has been part of CDBG since 1989. Since that time, the CDBG program has awarded grants totaling approximately $35 million.
