State of California Disaster Recovery Initiative (DRI) Program
Subject to congressional (federal) funds allocations, the State DRI Program (DRI Program) provides grants to eligible Counties and Cities to assist with the physical and economic recovery from federally declared disasters (i.e., wildfire, earthquake, flooding).
Similar to the StateÆs Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, the DRI Program provides funding for:
- Construction, Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Preservation of affordable rental and ownership housing, homeless shelters and transitional housing;
- Public services;
- Public facilities and Infrastructure projects for the primary benefit of low-and moderate-income people;
- And, where applicable, the development or retention of jobs for lower income workers.
