Willow Avenue Homes

Willow Avenue Homes is an example of a successful manufactured housing development made possible by a public/private partnership. The seven home subdivision located on 3/4 of an acre in an unincorporated area of Alameda County was completed in 1998 by Modular Lifestyles, Alameda County Planning Department, and the California Department of Housing and Community Development. As members of The Alameda County Local Partnership in Homeownership and the National Partners in Homeownership, all partners contributed toward making this development affordable to lower-income families in the San Francisco Bay Area.

With Modular Lifestyles as the designer, developer and sales entity, other partners included Fleetwood Homes of Woodland, California; The California Manufactured Housing Institute; North American Mortgage, Placer Title, Phillips Construction; and Cimerron Construction.

In 1999, Willow Avenue Homes was recognized during the National Manufactured Housing Congress as "The Best New Manufactured Housing Subdivision in the United States," by the Manufactured Housing Institute.

Innovation in design and development techniques were used to create this fine example of how the best of American creativity is helping expand homeownership opportunities for all Californians.
