January 2026
Application Due
Final applications due to HCD on January 30, 2026 by 5:00 PM PDT. Applicants will receive an acknowledgement receipt.
February 2026
Application Follow Up
The Tribal HHAP team may contact Applicants with questions necessary to finalize review and approval of submitted applications.
March 2026
Allocation & Conditional Awards
If applications exceed $28.5 million, an allocation based on need will be used (see Section 3.3 of the NOFA). The Tribal HHAP team will then inform Tribes of their allocations via a conditional award.
May 2026
Budget Revision & Disbursement
After conditional awards, Tribes will submit a revised budget for HCD approval. Once approved and the Standard Agreements are signed, payments will be disbursed, with a target date of April 2026. The actual date depends on how quickly the paperwork is completed by the Applicant.
July 23, 2026
Publish draft NOFA, Standard Agreement Boilerplate, and Application
The draft NOFA, Standard Agreement boilerplate, and application will be published, commencing a 30-day comment period, during which the Tribal HHAP team will seek feedback from Tribal Partners to ensure that the development of the NOFA and Standard Agreement boilerplate processes effectively meet the needs of Tribal communities.
July 23, 2026 – August 22, 2026
Public Comment Period and Tribal Outreach
HCD will seek feedback from tribal partners through public listening sessions on the draft Tribal HHAP Round 5 NOFA, Standard Agreement boilerplate, and application. These sessions offer tribes the opportunity to share concerns, submit comments, and help ensure the program reflects community-defined priorities.

June 2029
Fund Expenditure Deadline
Tribal HHAP Round 4 Program funding must be spent by June 30, 2029.
