Program Overview

DR-MHP 2023/2024 NOFA

Approximately 137.8 million in CDBG-DR funds will be made available to private developers, public entities, and Tribal Entities seeking to build multifamily housing projects in areas affected by 2023 and 2024 federally-declared disaster floods. Funding from this round is available for the following regions: Tuolumne, Tulare, San Benito, San Diego, Monterey, and Santa Cruz counties.

DR-ACCEL Program

$53 million in CDBG-DR funds for 2022-2023 floods will be made available to take the place of low-income housing tax credit equity or tax-exempt bonds for projects that have received a HCD loan award on December 31, 2023 or prior, that have not yet begun construction in the counties of San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, Merced or Ventura.

DR-MHP Round One

$120.8 million in CDBG-DR funds for 2020 wildfires were made available for the development of affordable multifamily housing in the counties of Santa Cruz, Butte, Napa, Sonoma, Solano, Los Angeles, Fresno, Shasta and Siskiyou under a NOFA on June 28, 2024. The application period closed on September 6, 2024 and applications are currently under review. $26.8 million in CDBG-DR funds for the 2018 Woolsey Fire were again made available for the development of affordable multifamily housing in the cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas and Malibu on December 13, 2024.
