Her Own Little Piece of the World – Spotlight on Nakia

Nakia slept on streets, buses and trains before moving into HCD-funded Homekey Harbor City in the County of Los Angeles. She says now that she has a home she feels safe and content and that “things are looking up.” Homekey Harbor City was made possible through Governor Newsom’s unprecedented and highly successful Homekey program, which significantly accelerated the development of housing for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
