Deputy Director of Division Financial Assistance Federal Programs

Jenny Cho (she / her) has served as Deputy Director, Division of Financial Assistance, Federal Programs at HCD since June of 2024. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Deputy Director of Federal Relief and Recovery at HCD since 2022.

Before joining state service, Cho worked at the San Diego Housing Commission from 2018-2022, serving in several positions to advance critical affordable housing solutions including Housing Programs Analyst, Special Initiatives Manager and Director of Real Estate Division Administration and Optimization. In addition to affordable housing and community development, she worked to advance data-driven solutions to improve quality of life through literacy, maternal health and early childhood development services as a Data Analyst for the City of Hamilton on the Early Years Research Team, Performance Planning and Evaluation from 2015 to 2016. Following her academic research in immigrant and refugee health in the field of population health, she worked to advance solutions to improve the social determinant of health for immigrant and refugee communities as the City of Hamilton’s Immigration Strategy Coordinator from 2013 to 2015.

As a graduate student, Cho worked as a Teaching Assistant at McMaster University from 2010-2012. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Health Geography from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Sciences and Geography from Concordia University.
